Value Portrait

1. Explain the process you went through to develop your drawing.
I had to find the values on the face and outline them. I had to try to find the light and dark values in this picture. Then I also had to color the back of the paper and go over the outlines I had drawn to transform it to the other paper. Afterwards I had to try to shade in the values correctly and blend them light to other values.

2. Explain how you found the different values in the portrait?
It was difficult to try to find the different values, so I had to hold up the picture in the light to find all of the values, then outline them. I had to find the light and dark values, then I had to use my value chart and identify how light or dark the values might be.

3.  Did you achieve a full range of the different values within your portrait?  How?
Yes, There was a lot of values in light and dark on this portrait. Some of the values were hard to find and hard to ouline but it worked out in the end of it. I had to use the value chart to help color in the values.

4. Describe your craftsmanship.  Is the artwork executed and crafted neatly?
I tried my best to shade the values neatly and correctly. I also tried to blend them out with the other values next to it. I believe it worked out in the end.

5. List any obstacles you had to overcome and how you dealt with them.
The hardest obstacle I had to overcome was how to blend the values and to not go to dark to fast. I tried to blend carefully and to blend lightly at first then go darker gradually.

4. What worked about this project? What didn’t work? I feel like the colors didn't complement each other like I had hope it would be.

5. If you were to do this project over again, what changes would you consider making? I would changed it's color because the color I used in this project was not very nice.

6. What was the most difficult part about completing this piece and why? Shading it because when you shade you have to make it dark and gradually making it lighter.

7. What did you learn from this piece? I learned you have to color with the shape or it wouldn't look real.
